Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is reported to be a standalone title launching on May 1 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Despite the massive tonal and aesthetic shift, many of the mechanics shown in the video will be familiar to players of Far Cry 3, with Blood Dragon using the same takedown chaining, healing, and grenade throwing. The character--reported to be cyber-commando Rex Colt and voiced by 80s action movie star Michael Biehn--can breathe underwater, takes no falling damage, and occasionally flips the bird at fallen enemies.
